I took this photo of young silver birch trees on tuesday. I love the rhythm in the trunks and the patterns within each trunk. I am not sure if this is the ‘finished image’ that I wanted to create…there are so many ways to crop the photos and manipulate the colours. I’ve wanted to find a large group of young silver birch trees to photograph for years since seeing a painting 20 years ago (sadly I can’t remember the artist). So where did I find the trees? Strangely, right outside the Tate Gallery in London.
